Advocacy and Oui’d

ADVOCACY

In the realm of modern medicine and personal freedom, the advocacy for medical cannabis is a pivotal intersection where compassion, science, and liberty converge. It's about more than just the legalization of a plant; it's about recognizing and empowering individuals with the autonomy to make choices that impact their health and well-being. Advocating for medical cannabis is advocating for the right to seek relief and healing through natural means, underpinned by an ever-growing body of research that underscores its therapeutic potential. It is a plea for empathy, urging society to look beyond outdated stigmas and to embrace a future where patients have the freedom to access effective treatments without fear or judgment. At its core, this movement is a testament to the human spirit's resilience, advocating for a world where everyone has the opportunity to live their lives to the fullest, unburdened by unnecessary suffering. The push for medical cannabis is a fight for dignity, for science, and for the fundamental human right to pursue happiness and health in equal measure.

OUI’D

"Oui'd" rolls off the tongue with a smooth, knowing confidence, a laid-back affirmation that blends the French "oui" with the chilled-out vibes of cannabis culture. It's a nod to those in the know, an acknowledgment that, yes, we've got this. This isn't about shouting from the rooftops; it's a quiet conviction, a vibe that says we're on the right path, and we're flowing with the universe's rhythm. It's the kind of "yes" that doesn't need to prove anything, because it's grounded in the understanding that when we align our intentions with our actions, we're unstoppable.

Adopting the "Oui'd" mindset is like tapping into a laid-back form of manifestation. It's knowing deeply that what we seek is seeking us too, and that by maintaining a positive, open stance, we're inviting those goals and dreams closer to reality. It's the confidence that comes from understanding success isn't just about the hustle; it's also about aligning with the flow, about being in the right state of mind to receive what the world has to offer. "Oui'd" whispers that our thoughts shape our reality, and by confidently affirming our desires, we're setting the stage for them to unfold. It's a cool, collected way of moving through the world, where knowing and being are the ultimate keys to achieving our aims.

Advocacy and Triumph with The Cannabis Alliance

In the realm of advocacy, where determination meets action, the power of collective effort shines brightest. This was vividly demonstrated on January 30th, when I had the honor of participating in The Cannabis Alliance's annual lobbying days, an event that epitomizes the unity and shared commitment of individuals fighting for meaningful change in the cannabis industry.

My day began with a personal initiative to visit the offices of my home district 23. It was a moment to share my views, to lay the groundwork for the day ahead, and to personally contribute to the fabric of our collective mission. This was an opportunity to approach each conversation with optimism and determination, setting the tone for what was to become a day filled with meaningful advocacy.

The day took an exciting turn when I met with John Kingsbury, a key figure in our advocacy efforts, who graciously invited me to join a group of passionate advocates. Together, we embarked on a series of meetings with lawmakers, articulating the need for critical legislative changes that sit at the heart of our mission. Our agenda was comprehensive, focusing on the removal of the cannabis excise tax for patients through House Bill 1453, advocating for the opening of homegrow options, addressing the issue of cannabis waste, and the formation of a cannabis commission, among others.

Our advocacy was driven by the belief that through our collective voices, we could enact change. The passage of House Bill 1453 through the state senate was a testament to our efforts, marking a significant victory in making medical cannabis more accessible to those in need by removing the financial burden of the excise tax.

The culmination of our efforts was symbolized in a photograph taken on the capitol steps, a moment of unity and celebration that captured the essence of our mission. The day concluded with a shared ride on the Cannabus, leading us to a reception dinner where we reflected on our achievements and the future that we are shaping together.

Cannabis Alliance Lobby Days 2024 Olympia Washington.

Reflecting on this experience, I am filled with gratitude for The Cannabis Alliance and their unwavering dedication to hosting these lobbying days. I am thankful for the lawmakers who listened and engaged with us, for the doors that were opened, and for the spirit of collaboration that was palpable throughout the day.

This journey of advocacy has reaffirmed my belief in the power of collective action and the impact it can have in shaping a more just and compassionate world. To everyone who has been a part of this movement, your dedication and perseverance have not only contributed to the passage of HB1453 but have also paved the way for future successes.

As we celebrate this victory, let us also look forward to the continued work ahead, knowing that together, we can achieve remarkable change. Thank you to all who have joined in this cause, for your commitment, your passion, and your advocacy. Together, we are making a difference..

The Friendly Viking,

Jason Ritz
